A few years ago, Cult of Individuality’s creative director Ron Poisson had an idea; to craft denim styles and washes created straight from real life experiences. After all, that’s the authentically worn that makes the best vintage denim.
Starting from Scratch
To do this – Ron took a giant leap in reverse, and set out to create one of the best lines of premium dry denim around, all with an intent that led up to Cult’s first ever Future Vintage Project that kicked off this past October 5th. A contest dubbed the “Future Vintage Project.” Participating in this unique fade contest are denim fans from all walks of life. To participate, they had to start by posting pictures of themselves in their brand new Cult Raw Denim with #CultFutureVintage. The Hagen Relaxed, the Rocker Slim, the Rebel Straight and the Rebel Straight in Cinch Back… all canvases to build on.Vintage in Progress
And now, over the next 7 months, the rest of us will be able to track the project participants as they wear in their jeans, turning them from brand new Cults… to Future Vintage. The winning pair will then be named by the creator, and be recreated as a limited time style in the Cult portfolio, earning the creator a $1000 credit on CultofIndividuality.com. The finalists for the project will be chosen by Cult based on style, originality and participation, but voted on by you, the Cult fans.
